The Independent Bar in downtown St. Petersburg is hosting a happy hour fundraiser for those in Puerto Rico impacted by the recent hurricanes. Join us Thursday, October 12th, from 5-7 p.m. at 1049 Central Avenue. We are collecting vital supplies for those in need, including: personal care kits, non-perishable foods, small tents and sleeping bags, flashlights and battery or solar-operated radios, trash bags, first aid kits, diapers, baby formula and towels.
Live music from Kasondra Rose from 5-7 p.m. There will be raffles and silent auctions between 6-7 p.m. Items for auction include gift baskets from the Indie Bar St. Pete and Jug & Bottle, original art by Chizzy, gift cards from St. Pete Records, Furnish Me Vintage, Buya Ramen and a membership to Body Electric.
For our part, St. Pete Records will be donating 25 percent of all sales on Thursday, October 12. We will have vinyl to purchase on-site, in addition to our 2nd floor shop down the road at 1246 Central Avenue. We are bringing out specially made vinyl grab bags for $5 for the event as well. Charities to be donated to include: UNIDOS, SATO Project, & GlobalGiving.org - Puerto Rico & Caribbean Hurricane Relief Fund.
If you are unable to attend but would like to donate supplies or funds towards those in need, we are collecting supplies at St. Pete Records. Feel free to drop-off any donations to 1246 Central Ave., between 11-6 p.m.
Special thanks to Samantha Fenwick, Kristy Wasniewski, Renata Lead and Lauren Groh for organizing the event.
